TALKING BOOKS
The Podcast for People who love Audiobooks
In the past few years, I've recorded well over a hundred Audiobooks.
I thought it would be great to talk to some of the authors whose books I've narrated, to find out what they thought about the whole process.
We talk about characters, voices, accents, the writing process, the recording process, in fact, all things audiobook related. As well as some things not!
If you're a fan of audiobooks and want to find out a bit more about how it all works, then this podcast is for you.
“The life of man is solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short. But at least there are audiobooks.”
THOMAS HOBBES*
*He didn't actually say the last bit. Obvs.
And I should know.
I recorded Leviathan.
Every. Last. Word.

Some reviews on Audible
The Pimlico Murder - FrancesH
I really enjoy these books and especially the performance; an incredible range of voices create a picture better than any UHD TV.
Blackout - Louise C
Thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the characters were excellent. I loved the narrator he made the story interesting and the tension built all the way through.
Dying Inside - Anonymous
Good storyline I enjoyed it. Narration was brilliant.
The Lucky Ones - Robert
It's a hard to stop listening as you are pulled into this excellent thriller, and to to add to this you have wonderful narration from the brilliant Simon Mattacks.
Thanks Julie Lennox on Audible!
Gripping from start to finish. Simon Mattacks is one of my favourite narrators and didn’t disappoint.
But. You can't please everyone ....
I was very disappointed to find that the Narrator had been swapped !! after listening to the first 5 books this one was just not the same Nat has lost all of his wit and sarcastic personality.
Ps I do like Simon Mattacks very much but he just didn’t capture Nat’s personality.

"When you read a book, the story definitely happens inside your head. When you listen, it seems to happen in a little cloud all around it, like a fuzzy knit cap pulled down over your eyes."
